Last week, Bazille Nordstrom at the Galleria kicked off their new Wine Wednesday Series featuring Nice Winery, one of the newest Houston wineries on our radar!
Nice Winery is known for their organic, award-winning wines from vineyards in Texas, California, and Argentina. After attending their Wine 101 class about a month ago, I knew I was in for a treat at Bazille. More on Nice Winery here.
I hadn't realized Nordstrom had a chain of restaurants under their wing until visiting Bazille, a French, New American restaurant. If you've never been either, their new Wine Wednesday series happening each month is a great way to try their food while enjoying some fine wines! Each installment of the series will feature a different winery and a 4-course meal created by Sous Chef Randy Pinney.
AMUSE BOUCHE || Pork Belly and Apricot Crostini
Wine pairing: 2015 Sauvignon Blanc from Mendoza, Argentina
1ST COURSE || Egg yolk ravioli, fried prosciutto, parmesan cheese, micro basil, pink peppercorns, mint pesto
Wine pairing: 2016 Wildcat Chardonnay from Lodi, California
2ND COURSE || Citrus jumbo lump crab, mixed green salad, sunburst tomato, avocado, jack cheese
Wine pairing: 2011 Nice Wines Malbec Reserve from Mendoza, Argentina
3RD COURSE || Braised lamb shank, fennel & carrot puree, pickled plums, lamb jus
Wine pairing: 2016 Testamento Cabernet Sauvignon from Mendoza, Argentina
4TH COURSE || Chocolate mousse, lavender whipped cream, candied dried cherries, blackberry coulis, mint
Wine pairing: 2015 Periwinkle Petite Sirah from St. Helena, Napa Valley
