Happy first day of February... of 2019!? Can you believe it?! Because I sure can't.
Last year, I shared 3 different coffee shops I explored the previous month, and after a full year I hit almost all of the coffee shops within the main loop. As much as I would love to continue the series, I knew I would have a hard time driving out to coffee shops outside the loop on a regular basis. SO, after going to a few different breweries in January, I have decided to take on Houston breweries. There are so many scattered throughout the city and new ones popping up all the time, so what better excuse to drink more beer than to commit to going to 3 new breweries each month for an entire year?!
And here we go!
WALKING STICK BREWING
956 Judiway St, Houston, TX 77018
New brewery in the Heights area - they just opened in December!
Small neighborhood brewery feel
Lots of tables for groups
Outdoor games - Jenga and corn hole
Get a flight to try more of their beers!
Completely outdoors (don't go on a rainy day like we did!), although they do have large standing umbrellas and heaters
GREAT HEIGHTS BREWING
938 Wakefield Dr, Houston, TX 77018
Still relatively new, they opened in August 2017!
Indoor space with outdoor patio
Board games and cards available
All the grains used in making their beer is given to local farmers for livestock feed
You can bring your own food! Otherwise, they have a permanent food truck (The Purple Flour Pizza) every Wednesday-Sunday
SAINT ARNOLD'S BREWERY
2000 Lyons Ave, Houston, TX 77020
Texas' oldest craft brewery
On-site kitchen with great food options
Beer Garden and Restaurant just opened up last year and it's very, very spacious
They run FREE facility tours that are fun and informative
No outside food or alcohol allowed
Go on your birthday for a free pint!
I would love some of your recommendations for any breweries you might know of that is worth checking out! This past month, we took one of our Instagram followers' recommendations (Walking Stick) and loved it so much - please send us more!
