Xigon Oc and More is a crash course in Vietnamese coastal cuisine, and one of the most exciting dining experiences we’ve had in a while. If you’ve ever been curious about trying dishes like banh canh cua (crab udon), lau (Vietnamese hotpot), or oc (snails and whelks), this is your spot!

The menu is packed with bold flavors, rich broths, and a wide variety of seafood-forward dishes you don’t see often in Houston. It might look intimidating at first glance, but the food is approachable, satisfying, and full of surprises. If you’re not sure where to begin, go with the Lau Thai (Tom Yum-style hotpot). It’s fragrant, spicy, and perfect for sharing. We also loved the Com Chien Mam Ruoc Thai, a fried rice dish flavored with lemongrass and shrimp paste that’s incredibly aromatic and addictive.

Another standout: the Cua Sot Dac Biet (House Special Crab). It’s messy in the best way and worth every napkin. But if you’re here to try what makes this place unique, don’t leave without ordering at least one dish from the snail section. The Oc Huong Cao Bo Toi (whelk in garlic butter) was the shelled hit of the night—buttery, rich, and easy to love, even if you’re new to snails.

The team at Xigon Oc and More knows how to bring out the best in these traditional dishes, plus they have a full bar of drinks and boba! It’s a great spot for groups, adventurous eaters, or anyone looking to try something new.

If you’re ready to go beyond the basics and explore a side of Vietnamese cuisine you won’t find just anywhere, Xigon Oc and More is well worth the visit. Bring your appetite—and maybe a friend who doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty.i
