The cutest little French restaurant just opened up on the edge of Montrose earlier this year, and while the food is divine, the happy hour menu is everything you could ever want... and more.
Kevin d’Andréa, one of the finalists of Top Chef France in 2015, created a menu that is both sophisticated yet inviting by combining elements of both traditional and modern French cuisine.
The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful and has a modern elegance to it, complete with an outdoor and rooftop patio. My personal favorite area would have to be the outdoor patio right out front. The bistro chairs and blue and white striped umbrellas set a nice ambiance that makes you feel as though you're enjoying a meal on the streets of France.
We came for happy hour, which happens Tuesday through Friday from 5-7pm. We tried a nice portion of the menu, so you'll want to keep reading along to see what the must-tries are!
SOURDOUGH BREAD WITH TRUFFLE BUTTER
Start off your meal with some of the best and freshest sourdough bread along with a side of truffle butter... yes, that's right truffle butter. It's hard to put into words how good the bread and butter was, but let's just say I could probably eat it as a meal.
RISING SOURDOUGH CRUST
Wow, this one was such a treat. The crust is made in-house and is topped with escargot!
OYSTERS ON THE HALF SHALL FROM PLEASANT BAY, MA
I haven't had a lot of oysters that weren't from the gulf, so an oyster from the East coast was such a breath of fresh air. They're so light and flavorful!
TRUFFLE FRENCH FRIES
Basically my two favorite things in one! Can't go wrong with truffle + fries.
ROASTED PRAWN WITH AIOLI
Such a huge fan of these prawns. They were super plump and delicious, especially when doused in that aioli!
This is a *MUST TRY*! Just look at allllll that truffle!
SEA BASS CEVICHE
La Villa sources all their fish from the Atlantic, so this one is a good one to try if you love ceviche and/or seafood!
You really can't go wrong with any of the dishes on the happy hour menu. Such a nice selection with shareable plates as well! Most importantly though, their cocktail are both delicious and reasonably priced for happy hour.
EPICEE || Vodka, elderflower, lime, jalapeno, ginger beer
I really enjoyed the Epicee. It almost resembles a Moscow mule, but with a hint of spice!
WARM PRALINE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE || Salted crumble, vanilla ice cream
VANILLA AND PRALINE ECLAIR || Salted caramel, roasted hazelnut
You cannot skip out on dessert. We highly recommend the eclair. It's a LARGE dessert, and it's recommended to share with at least 2 people. One of my favorite desserts that I have tried recently. Incredible.
