New Authentic New York-Style Bagel Shop Opens First Texas Location: Jeff’s Bagel Run in West University

The moment you walk into Jeff’s Bagel Run, you're greeted by the irresistible smell of fresh-baked bagels. That warm, unmistakable aroma fills the space—and from the first bite, it’s clear these are authentic New York-style bagels. This is their first and only Texas location, which opened in January, and we’re already hooked!

Jeff and Danielle, the couple behind the brand, are originally from the East Coast. Jeff started baking during the pandemic, delivering fresh bagels to neighbors—hence the name “Jeff’s Bagel Run.” What began as a small gesture grew into a full-on operation, with Orlando locations that quickly developed a loyal following. Their Texas shop brings that same attention to detail, warmth, and craft.

Everything at Jeff’s Bagel Run is made from scratch. The bagels, spreads, and even butter are all prepped in-house using fresh ingredients. They proof the bagels for 24 hours and bake them throughout the day, so your bagel is always fresh and warm. Even the strawberries in the strawberry cream cheese are fresh, not frozen.

There’s something for every kind of bagel lover here. From classics like Chive & Onion Cream Cheese on a Jalapeño Cheddar Bagel to fun, dessert-style flavors like Cake Batter, Banana Pudding, and Cannoli, the menu doesn’t hold back. We loved the Cinnamon Sugar Bagel with Fresh Strawberry Cream Cheese, but the real surprise was the Bagel of the Day—ours was a Tomato Grilled Cheese that tasted like comfort in every bite.

We took a dozen home, and they toast up perfectly the next day—still chewy inside, crisp outside. And if you need a caffeine fix, the coffee lineup delivers too, with unique offerings like Banana Bread Oat Milk Cold Brew alongside your standard go-to's.
