New Venezuelan-Inspired Bakery in West Houston: Mao’s Bakery

Mao’s Bakery is one of Houston’s newest hidden gems. It’s family owned and operated, and all the delicious baked goods are made fresh in house! While you’ll find authentic Venezuelan treats like Golfeados (cheese sticky buns) and Cachitos (kolaches), you’ll also find a nice variety of other crave-worthy sweet and savory goodies like Passion Fruit Tres Leches and New York Style Cookies. Everything we tried was so well done — you can tell they’re baked with love and passion. You definitely need to add Mao’s to your must-try list!

P.S. They also have coffee drinks. The Mao’s Special is a MUST! It’s coffee poured over vanilla cake and condensed milk, and it’s just as tasty as it sounds!
