Our first time in Corpus Christi, TX was one for the books! We had a lovely stay at Lively Beach on Mustang Island in Corpus Christi, TX (full post to come), and if we're being honest, we spent our time either laying on the beach or venturing out to local restaurants and shops.
If you're unfamiliar with the area, Lively Beach is right on the tip of Mustang Island. It's actually conveniently located right by Padre Island, which has some great food options! If you are looking to make a trip down for your next weekend getaway or vacation, here are some recommendations for where to eat while you're on North Padre Island in Corpus Christi, TX:
1. Padre Island Burger Company
This is THE burger spot in the area. We got tons of recommendations for this spot and were so glad we popped by for lunch. Matt got The Chronic with sweet potato fries, and I got the Lulu with regular fries. We also shared an order of the Green Chile Fries, and y'all, it's a must try. We are big fans of green chiles and they nailed it. Everything was fantastic!
2. Island Joe's Coffee and Gallery
Island Joe's is a massive coffee shop set in renovated shipping containers! They have tons of indoor and outdoor seating and serve up delicious coffee and smoothies.
3. Costa Sur Wok & Ceviche Bar
If you know me, you know I am a HUGE fan of Peruvian food since visiting Peru in 2014. I was so excited to see that Padre Island had a Peruvian spot and even more excited to find that their ceviche was delicious! You have to get the Ceviche Fusion. The coconut milk is MAGICAL.
4. JB's German Bakery
All I can say is that line is worth it, y'all! We waited for maybe 30 minutes and it was worth every minute. We wanted to try everything, but decided to pick a few of the sweet and savory pastries. Everything is displayed in windows, so eat with your eyes - they won't steer you wrong.
Other raved about spots that we didn't get a chance to check out while we were on the island are:
5. Rock & Roll Sushi
